At this stage I have to admit that I have never tried to call Squirrels BUT my comments herein are based on the feedback received from my friends, customers, air gunners, local Gamekeepers and Paddlesdown Pro-Staff – by and large they are reliable sources and competent callers!

We have sold a seriously good number of Squirrel calls and the vast majority of customers report excellent results and many air rifle shooters I speak with regard the Squirrel Call as an essential bit of kit in the war against the Tree Rat! Whilst one customer says every Squirrel he called ran off I have feedback from good callers saying the squirrel call is deadly so I suspect it is down to the field craft and skill of the user. I’ve just had a customer from the Forest of Dean come back for another having used his for the first time and bagged over a dozen Tree Rats.

Our Pro-Staffer and Air Gunner “Jimmy the Jock” uses a Squirrel Buster and he gets his best results by grasping the call in his hand a knocking the rubber bellows quickly and repeatedly on his leg. Simply tapping or shaking the bellows as indicated fails to get the result he is looking for.

The Primos Squirrel Call is an excellent call and unlike some other brands the bellows remain supple and are therefore easy to produce a sound. Many local Gamekeepers also use this as a Fox Call.
