The Growler Jacket is part of the range of MAD DOG Gear by Stearns and has proved to be a popular low cost Waterproof Realtree Jacket since its introduction.  The Growler jacket has been subject to an update and revision for 2008 and is now available to you in the latest Realtree APG camouflage with contrasting side panels, hem and under arm trim. The Jacket is also now available in “Youth” sizes

The new Growler Jacket is a lightweight jacket with the advantage that it can be worn on it's own on warmer days but is also suitable for wearing over your coldweather clothing in winter. The jacket is made in a short "bomber style" length which is great for shooting from a hide seat as you don't keep sitting on the tail of the jacket and restricting movement. If you were one of the many who purchased the “old” Growler Jacket do note that the new jacket is a little bit longer in the body.

The jacket has a soft and silent brushed Tricot microfibre outer which is very hard wearing whilst remaining soft and silent. A waterproof and breathable taped seam membrane is then bonded to this outer to ensure the jacket is waterproof and breathable whilst remaining lightweight. Finally inside there is a lightweight and bulk free mesh lining for comfort. The jacket has elasticated storm cuffs, two large pockets with hand warmer access to the rear, zipped front with press stud storm flap, elasticated hem and attached hood.

Available in 3 “Youth” sizes (Small, Medium, Large) all of which are fairly generous. The Youth size Small suits our boy who is aged 10 but he is very tall and wears 12 year old Jackets. The small is baggy on him as he is slender but the length is OK. It looks like the Medium is going to suit a teenager around 13/14 and the Large is going to suit a small lady or young person aged 14+
