Prior to putting this call onto the internet I did a simple “google and eBay search” and I was more than a little bit surprised at the claims some sellers are making for this call. Judging by what they write, sounds to me like this call will make us all into a veritable “Pied Piper”!

So let’s hear a few home truths about this call from someone who has actually used one, which is me. If you want a call for Crows (Carrions) then this one is not going to do the business and it sounds nothing like a Carrion. However, it will work very well on Rooks and Jackdaws in combination with a few Decoys – I have shot a few 100+ bags on drillings and stubbles with this combination.

The real surprise with this call is its devastating attraction to Magpies, I found this one Spring totally by chance. I try to reproduce a Crow call but bite down fairly hard on the call to raise the pitch and this does the business in the Spring when Magpies are territorial. I find it works best when you are hidden in thickish cover under a tree, this call really winds up Magpies and I find they hurtle into the tree you are sat under and then they jump up and down in a real rage before…………bang!
