The Paddlesdown Pro Staff Team do have a genuine interest in the product as Sam Griffin, who you will read about within our website, has eye dominance problems. Sam is naturally right handed but was identified as having a left Master Eye when he was 7 or 8. Since then Sam has remained with largely left eye dominance and has learnt to shoot left handed however on several occasions coaches have commented that at best his eye dominance is weak, sometimes it’s central and occasionally it moves to his right! Over the last couple of seasons this has caused poor Sam (now 11) a lot of problems and more than just a little frustration with his poor shooting. Sam has now fitted the Easy Hit! to his semi auto and we will be reporting the results on our website, click here to read his first experience.

Most people are unaware that they have an eye-dominance problem at all until they start shooting but optometrists estimate that some 75% of women and 35% of men are affected. Youngsters up to the age of 16 can have frequent changes in eye dominance and from 45 years old it is common for men to develop the problem.

For those affected, the Bead costs just £30 and is simple and quick to fit by anyone. It simply slides onto the barrel of the gun to give instant results. The Easy Hit! Bead has been endorsed by sports vision optometrists.

The reason the Bead works is that the brain, not our right or left handedness, decides which eye will have the main eye dominance resulting in our left, right or middle vision.

The Easy Hit! fibre optic foresight is contained within a specialist patented frame and butts up against the existing muzzle-end bead using a pre-fitted high bond, oil and heat resistant adhesive strip.  Ignoring the ‘Bead’ and looking at the quarry, our brain is genuinely tricked by this sight’s specialist design.

When fitted, the Bead makes the shooter’s eye dominance perfect and naturally aligns the correct eye and rib with the quarry or target.  With eye dominance problems eliminated, shooters can shoot with both eyes open. Peripheral vision now provides a safer view of the arc of fire; binocular vision allows correct judgement of range and a perfect master eye provides accuracy.

Graham took on the product following his own eye dominance difficulties. He explains: “While qualifying as a Clay Shooting Coach it was quickly established that I was suffering from a completely dominant left eye. Sadly I am right shouldered! I was achieving less than 50% at shoots and until that course I had been totally unaware of the effect it was having on my shooting. My coaching colleagues had confirmed my gun was correctly fitted.

It took me a year of trying all the suggested cross-eye dominance remedies before I decided that mechanical remedies such as patches, hair gel on glasses or closing my eye were not for me and I tried to identify the most natural remedy. While shooting in America I found the Bead and tried it. It worked. My scores climbed rapidly from C class to rarely less than 80%.”

Providing your gun fits you correctly it does not matter what degree of cross eye dominance you have or whether you are right or left shouldered, shoot a side by side, over and under or single barrelled shotgun or whether you shoot game or clays.
